I am based just on the edge of Springfield, working from a studio at home. However I provide everything you would expect from a traditional florist shop without the store front.

I have over 13 years of experience in all aspects of floristry. I am passionate about providing the highest quality bespoke service. Using locally grown flowers whenever possible. Where it all started.

I was lucky enough to be trained at 18 by Sue Bailey, who owned a beautiful independent florist shop in the historical Abbey town of Sherborne, Dorset. The shop was very busy and even boasted a few celebrity clients! Sue was the floristry lecturer at Kingston Maurward Horticultural College. Under her watchful eye I learnt my trade, whilst continuing my education at Sailsbury’s Art college, completing an HND in Photography. All my art and design education has given me a strong understanding of composition, colour, form, texture and shape. This has given me the confidence to move beyond the traditional floral design training. Which can often appear more like floristry by numbers, than creative style.

Over the years I have worked in various florist shops in Dorset, Angus, Perthshire and Fife, however with the added commitment of family life The Thistle Shed was born. As a florist I know the importance of the flowers I am providing, and the often deep emotions involved, whether that is for a wedding, funeral, birth or anniversary. The Thistle Shed aims to provide the highest quality bouquets and arrangements, and an understanding of how important they are to both sender and recipient.
